A framework by Amanj Hamid

The DARE Framework.

A framework for seeing clearly, choosing deliberately and moving into action.

Define · Acknowledge · Reauthor · Execute

DARE helps you move from what is happening, through what you're seeing and what you're making possible, to a conscious choice and action.

The idea

Knowing isn't always enough.

We often know more than we're able to act on. DARE helps you understand what's really happening before deciding what to do about it.

The principle

Before doing, being comes first.

How we are being influences how we see.
How we see influences what we believe is possible.
What we believe is possible influences what we do.

DARE creates a structure for becoming aware of how you're seeing a situation before deciding what to do about it.

The framework

Define. Acknowledge. Reauthor. Execute.

D

Define

What is really happening?

Separate what happened from the story, assumptions and interpretations around it.

A

Acknowledge

What am I willing to face?

Face what is true, take responsibility for what is yours and recognise what you're avoiding.

R

Reauthor

What becomes possible from here?

Step outside the way you've been seeing the situation and create a new possibility.

E

Execute

What will I do from here?

Turn that possibility into a conscious choice and action.

DARE is a framework, not a prescription. It creates the structure; the person discovers the answer.

When it helps

DARE is useful when:

—You know something needs to change but can't see what.
—You know what you should do but aren't doing it.
—You're stuck in a recurring pattern or relationship.
—You have too much in your head to see clearly what comes next.

Different situations. The same need: to see what's really happening before deciding what to do.

Why I created DARE

Knowing a lot and still not moving.

For years, I knew what I should do and still found myself stuck. I had experience, knowledge, strategies and ideas — but understanding something intellectually didn't always create movement.

Through my own leadership journey, ontological coaching and years of working with founders and leaders, I became interested in what happens between knowing and doing.

DARE is the framework I developed to work through that gap.

You don't need to know exactly
what the problem is.

Bring the situation. DARE starts there.
